The nominations for WOCC Committee next year are open! The positions up for grabs are:
President
Treasurer
Secretary
Social Secretary
Below are the profiles for each position!
Nominations will close at 12pm (midday) on Friday 1 May.

COMMITTEE POSITIONS:
President
The President is the leader of the society, who co-ordinates and oversees all of the society’s activities. The president will need to provide support, advice and guidance to the other committee members throughout the academic year. Probably the most challenging role on the committee, you’ll need experience of what the society does, and a strong belief in the aims of the society. Being president means you can develop your leadership, organisation, coordination and communication skills. Personal skills required

Key Responsibilities
Attend Society Officer Training and Society AGM
Calling chairing meetings making sure everything is covered and no-one dominates
Delegating tasks - you shouldn’t do everything yourself
Understanding the broader picture keeping the aims of the society in mind at all times
Being a spokesperson/figurehead and represent your society whenever you can
Maintaining committee enthusiasm - if you’re not passionate, no-one else will be
Read society emails
Be aware of key dates for your society throughout the year
Publicise your society
Organise AGM (Annual General Meeting)
Secretary
The organiser.
As secretary, you would be responsible for supporting the President and communication with other committee member and the society as a whole. Where the treasurer President would work together on organising a summer ball, the secretary would work on getting the word out to society members, booking rooms out where tickets can be sold and being the go-to person for queries.
You could also be responsible for pitch bookings and sending out emails and updating social media. In short, you are the voice and ears of the society. Being secretary means you can develop your organisational, time management, communication and coordination skills. Personal Skills Required

Taking care of society admin
Arrange meetings and book rooms or venues
Creating an agenda as necessary
Communicate regularly with your members

Collect post weekly from your pigeon hole in the Activities Centre
Read society emails
Publicise your society
Organise AGM (Annual General Meeting)
Treasurer
A treasurer isn’t just about handling money, it means knowing how your finances stand at any one time; and planning according. Being a treasurer meant you can develop your organisational, coordination, communication and numerical skills Personal skills required.

Attend Society Officer Training and Society AGM
Learn and understand the Students’ Union financial system
Apply for the annual grant and extra funding from the Union as necessary
Keep track of all income/expenditure
Keep the committee and members informed of the society’s financial situation
Organise fundraising or sponsorship for your group
Countersign every claims form
Social Secretary
Socials are a great aspect of any good society. Whether these are evenings out, a ball, weekends away, or just a mean at someone’s house. Your members will get to know each other better and enjoy themselves more.
The Social Secretary is in charge of updating social media to advertise events as well as also help organise a wide range of socials. By seeing advertisements of events people will feel more welcomed to attend events! Being social secretary means you can develop; social, communication, verbal and written skills.
